The drive from Caen or Bayeux to Mont Saint-Michel takes approximately 1h30 each way. A full-day excursion typically lasts 7–8 hours in total, including 2–4 hours on the island itself. From Le Havre cruise port the drive is around 2h30 each way.
We recommend a minimum of 2 hours on the island to walk the ramparts, explore the village and admire the exterior of the abbey. If you wish to visit the abbey interior (ticketed), allow 3–4 hours. We are flexible — you set the pace.
It is possible to combine both in a two-day trip: D-Day beaches on day one, Mont Saint-Michel on day two. A single-day combination is not realistic — the sites are approximately 2 hours apart and each deserves half a day minimum. We can help plan your multi-day Normandy itinerary.
Yes. From central Paris or CDG/Orly airport the drive is approximately 4 hours each way, making it a long but feasible day trip with an early departure (6–7 am). We recommend staying overnight in Normandy if you also plan to visit the D-Day beaches.
No. The transfer and private driver service are included in our quote, but entrance fees to the abbey and any museums or restaurants are at your own expense. The village, ramparts and coastal walk are free to access.
